Gymbo … Blankets?

Repurposed!

Mosaic Moon One Size by PattyNaps

These are the Mosaic Moon One Size Fits Most diapers. We’ve recently acquired a cottage license to sew and sell these diapers and I’m loving this pattern. It’s a nice addition to our classic turned and top stitched style. We’ll be stocking MM OS at the Mosaic Moon Diaper Boutique.

The diapers pictured above are made with an outer knit print salvaged from Gymboree blankets. The blanket fabric makes a perfect outer knit as it is a high quality heavy interlock and squishy soft. They are lined with luxurious undyed bamboo velour and finished with Jeanstitch. Jeanstitch has become my new fave serger thread. It has a lovely sheen and holds the shape of the edging really well.

Awww… Newborns!

Who can resist?!?

The diaper on the left in a small PattyNaps turned and top stitched. I adore this Japanese import fabric! The diaper on the right is a Mosaic Moon Newborn made with cotton velour inside and out and finished with rainbow varigated Jean Stitch.

My second attempt with the coverstitch machine came out even better. This is a size 6 raglan style tee with 3/4 length sleeves. The design is applique. The applique fabric is fuzzy white microfleece, so it’s a kinder gentler skull.

Raglan tee

It’s taking me a ridiculously long time to finish each shirt, but hopefully I can pare down my time with a little practice. Yesterday I was tearfully accused of ‘never making ME anything’ so today Patrick is the recipient of the new pirate threads.

Mugging for the camera. Hey, he comes by it honestly.

Look Ma, I can sew (something other then diapers)!

I’m practicing with my ‘new’ hemstitch machine that I bought last summer. It makes finishing work on stretchy knits a little less frightening. This is a size 3T cotton jersey swing top . The wascally wabbit is applique/embroidery. I wish I’d made the bunny something other then white since the applique fabric shows through a little.

Not the greatest exposure, but you can get a sense of the fit.

Resurrecting the Blog

January 29th, 2008

We’ve had some big changes in the PattyNaps family. In early October my common sense took leave of me and on a whim I put our home on the market. Guess what? Three weeks later someone bought it! We found ourselves with a closing and moving date two weeks before Christmas. And, oh yeah.. we needed to find a new house too. It was all big fun.

Anyway, we survived and the diaper studio has been functionally unpacked. We’ll be stocking fitteds at Necessitae.com over the next few weeks. Also upcoming is the Fluff Factory charity auction event. Details to come.

And as LONG PROMISED, more embroidered AI2’s are in production! Here is a sneak peak:

These will to be available on our Hyena Cart in early February. As usual, exact time and dates will be announced on our email update list.
